Pyrenean Chamois Hunting

In Spain there are 2 different sub species as Chamois, the Pyrenean Chamois and the Cantabrian Chamois. The Chamois from the Pyrennes, the Rupicapra Pyrenaica is also called izard.

The Pyrenean Chamois is with no doubt the bigger of both in terms of body size and also of Trophy size.

We use to hunt this Pyrenean chamois in some of the best areas we can have in Spain, located on Cataluña district, on the Pyrenees Mountains.

We use to shot trophies up to Bronze medal sometimes even Gold medal trophies.

The Females of the Chamois represent also a nice trophy and the hunting is as difficult as the male.

You will hunt in a Private Estate with 6.000 hectares (14.800 acres) in Open Range at an altitude of 1,800 – 2. 600m / 5.900Ft – 8.530Ft.

The Trip

We will assist you in Barcelona airport for the clearing of your weapon, pick you up personally and be at your disposal at any time.

Transfer to the Hotel located at 2, 45h to the Airport and only at 10 minutes to the Hunting Area.

A rifle test is necessary. We will make the necessary checks before the hunt. We use to do that on the Ground to make sure the rifle is accurate.

If you don´t bring your rifle we have several ones perfect optimized for this hunting with good scopes at very good zeroing.

We work use a Leica Geovid binoculars with a Ballistic chart in order to know the drop of the bullet anytime.

We seriously recommended you to use our rifles in order to make your Trip more easy and comfortable.

On day 1, after breakfast, at 8h00, we will start hunting.

We move to the mountains in 4×4 and we start spotting the best areas where the Chamois use to feed.

The hunting can takes only a few hours, or a whole day depending of the chances we can have.

The 90% of the hunters take the sizes as trophy like they are looking for. We never shot trophies below the minimum size expected by the hunter.

In this area it is possible a combination of this hunting trophy with a Roe Buck, only during the spring (under request)

One day 2, if we didn’t take the trophy the first day, we will have the same program as day 1.

The last day we move to the Airport in Barcelona.

If the hunter wants to spend more time for tourism, there are plenty of activities in Barcelona and surroundings. We can arrange for you in advance (under request)
